Books
The book is walked by the unpleasant imagination of coming as Shotokan Karateka into a heavy conflict with an experienced
streetfighter. Fights require abilities, which cannot be learned with long air strikes. Impact training, methods of hardening, a repertoire
of combinations in all distances and their real combat simulation are the preconditions, in order to survive in a street fight. The book
analyzes requirements, traditions and modern times for the structuring of training contents, which bring back the Shotokan-Karate on
the way to the traditional self-defense. Equally the specializations are shown, which are necessary, in order to be successful in a sport
competition. With the developed punch combinations it will possible for the Karateka to defend themselves in the close distance and
to use the large range profitably. The book sensitized not only for Kumite lessons, but also for legislation and proportionality and
describes methods, which offer real chances for charater improvements to the western sportsmen.
The book is more easily understandable for experienced Karateka, because basic techniques are not explained. However beginners
receive many impulses, in order to accomblish their training target-oriented from the beginning and to use the slight training time
optimally.
The reader receives:
- Critical informations to tradition, modern times and techniques.
- Comprehensive descriptions of necessary combat skills.
- New training structures for self-defense, health and competition.
- The presentation of a world-wide unique fight dummy.
- The illustration of 157 effective block-counter-combinations. (Altogether discussed 270)
- The illustration of 95 effective attack-combinations. (Altogether discussed 112)
- The illustration of 82 close distance-combinations. (Altogether discussed 112)
Shotokan - Karate / Preparation for street fight
Hojo Undo and punch combinations
I must excuse the cover picture on this place, because it serves only the marketing. Neither it has something to do with street fight nor with Okinawa Karate tradition.
Apart from the fact that I would break myself in the cold condition, with jeans and perhaps still in the underground, I do not have pressure from the body center in this
position. Except the flywheel mass effect there is no “breaking” impact in the target area. But it looks nevertheless terrific, or not?
